seepex UK are part of international specialist pump manufacturers seepex GmbH + Co KG and based in Yeovil, Somerset.  seepex are world leaders in the manufacture of progressive cavity pumps, open hopper pumps, macerators and control systems.

 

The company provides bespoke solutions for many of its customers in industries including the food and beverage industry; chemicals and biochemicals; pulp and paper; oil, gas and petrochemicals and the environmental sector.  Both SFM Technology and seepex have a shared interest in the fruit harvesting and processing industry.

 

seepex was looking for a design and manufacturing engineer who could partner them in providing design engineering capability when developing project proposals for its potential and existing customers, was capable of preparing 3D CAD drawings and had the capacity to manufacture components and ancillary products to meet end user specifications within total pump installations.

 

SFM have mainly provided manufacture/fabrication services to seepex with the addition of design/drafting services to take designs from concept through to final manufacturing drawings. This facility is especially useful when their own engineering capacity is stretched which, for a fast growing company such as seepex UK, is a regular event.

 

The Company has extensive experience in packaging diesel driven equipment which seepex have realised can be applied to pump technology. They have undertaken a major piece of design work in packaging some high specification pumps and supported Seepex at the tender stage as well as being able to provide 3D CAD drawings to help with the presentation of an important bid.

SFM have also been manufacturing stainless steel hoppers for use with seepex pumps for installation work that they undertake. The close working relationship has been honed to a level where seepex is able to make judgements on SFM supply items that puts them in contract winning positions that might otherwise have taken more time had they been relying on design engineers without the intuitive working relationship which has been built up between the two companies.

 

SFM Technology was able to offer seepex both engineering design and manufacturing capabilities.  Simon Williams , Marketing Manager at seepex, said “They have shown that they can perform in vastly different markets and match the trends that each market demands”.
